Gorton fireplace mantel

We make Fireplaces from 1920s Art Deco fireplaces and classic Edwardian fireplace and mantel designs.
Although this is a design of fire surround that originated in the early 1900s, it had a resurgence in popularity around the 1920s and was still common in the 1950s. The design features a simple curving bolection moulding that frames the fireplace insert on three sides and ends neatly with two foot blocks at hearth level. Mantels like this were usually fitted with more landscape style tiled inserts. You can also see an example here of an original "stonite" version of this design fitted together with our Pimlico insert.
