Tamara Art Deco tiled fireplace

We make Fireplaces from 1920s Art Deco fireplaces and classic Edwardian fireplace and mantel designs.

This Art Deco fireplace has a design that has been faithfully copied from an original tiled back-panel dating from the 1920s or 1930s.

The inset panel has been formed by cutting and shaping individual tiles of different shapes and colours then laying these face down on a workbench and pouring a lightweight cement base onto the back of them (a process known as slabbing).

The asymmetric design in the central panel fans out from a point, reminiscent of the rays of the sun.
