Albemarle Art Deco fireplace insert
This tiled fireplace insert has definite elements of ziggurat type design influences.
These features of Art Deco design found their way easily into domestic fireplaces in the 1920s and 1930s
Tiles were eminently amenable to the construction of these linear stepped forms. It is a lot easier to cut a tile in a straight line than a curve.
Stepped fireplace designs of this type were common until at least the late 1940s.
This Art Deco inspired fireplace insert was designed by two of our customers for their own 1920s home. We have remade it in a large number of colour varaitions.
We can and do produce bespoke designs for customers, often taking patterns and themes from existing Art Deco features and translating them into tile designs for a fireplace.
As long as the degree of difficulty in manufacture is similar to that of our existing designs, we do not usually charge extra for this service.
