Elgin Art Deco marble fireplace
The Elgin is an Art Deco fireplace design faithfully copied from a marble fireplace dating from the 1920s.
The elegant stepped back sheets of marble with a contrasting coloured trim and top shelf were found in several variations ranging from 48 inches up to 72 inches wide and from 38 inches to 44 inches in overall height.
We have had 6 different originals with various shapes of hearth, in different materials and with one, two or three steps to the back panel. Our factory in Stockport has produced exact replicas of these originals as well as totally bespoke versions.
The version shown here is 56 inches wide and 38 inches high for the back panel with the hearth 60 inches wide, 20 inches front to back and 3 inches thick.
The back panel can be made up to 6 inches thick which gives ample shelf room for ornaments.
The dark banding for the shelf, base of the fire and base of the hearth is Italian black slate which forms a contrasting frame to the grey, pink and yellow of the Salome marble.
The price for this fireplace will vary depending on the marbles used and the size required.
A typical price would be over £3000
