Wooden Arts and Crafts mantel with Canopy-on legs cast iron insert and tiled Panels
The working bit of this fireplace is a fully restored "Parson's Grate" or Canopy-on-legs type fire interior. This is cast iron, with a copper hood that still has its original patination.
The two Art Nouveau panels come in with the price, but we do have a selection of these that you could choose from, or we can always make a pair to your own specification.
The firebrick lining is all new, and will last decades. The fire is especially suited for burning wood, but will function well using smokeless fuels too.
The mantel is referenced as m456, and is available separately. It is made of light brown mahogany, with a fiddleback mahogany central panel, and is of the highest quality.
The decorative carvings under the top shelf and the thin moulding that runs around the edge of the mantel are all hand carved.
We would suggest a tiled hearth to suit, and can supply either the loose tiles or a 1-piece raised hearth . we do produce 6x2" hand glazed tiles like the plain ones in the original tiled panels
