1960s brown marble fireplace
This beautifully made marble fireplace was made around 1960 in continental Europe for the English market.
End of year price reduction from £1200 to £800 !
It is low and wide as was the fashion at the time and well suits the proportions of many homes built at this time, which had lower ceiling heights than earlier houses.
Both the fireplace itself and the large hearth are framed in an Emprador Marble in a darker brown, with the interior stone a strongly veined lighter shade that complements it well.
The sides of the fireplace itself return to the wall in recessed 4 step chamfered quadrants with the patterning of the Emprador marble flowing through them.
The hearth has a slight raised edge, to prevent fuel/dust spilling out, and clever small flat areas to the sides to aid cleaning.
The interior of the fire surround is stainless steel sheet formed on a steel and cast iron frame.
We have added a tiled black pad immediately in front of the fire to take the brunt of any wear in the future.
The fret and fireback are not included in the price but can be added as additional items at a competitive price..
