1930s Tudor arched fireplace

We make Fireplaces from 1920s Art Deco fireplaces and classic Edwardian fireplace and mantel designs.

An imposing faïence block fireplace with Tudor arch from the 1930s.
The fireplace is glazed in a light beige brown mottle with contrasting 6 inch x 2 inch tiles in a darker brown forming the hearth and stepped block feature around the fire opening.
The Tudor arch panel is decorated with acanthus leaf capitals.
The corner blocks are decorated with a Tudor rose and intertwined foliage.
This central panel is framed by two sturdy columns with block feet and capped by a large 4 piece header.
The hearth with the darker, cross-bonded tiles has canted corners framed within a raised, profiled kerb in the lighter mottled faïence mouldings.
